ICSI is intracytoplasmic sperm injection, and this technique has really revolutionized the world of reproduction. ICSI involves the injection of a single sperm into an egg, and it’s done in a laboratory setting. On the female side, the female undergoes therapy to allow her to produce a large number of eggs, and her gynecologist, or her reproductive endocrinologist I should say, will remove those eggs and then the male partner will provide sperm. The sperm are injected into the eggs, and if all goes well, the eggs will then fertilize to create an embryo.
