Our advice to couples facing infertility

I think one thing that really helped us get through this was just being able to talk about everything that came up. Luckily we had a really open relationship to start, so I felt like we really could communicate about what that was going on. It was just really important to be able to talk about it, talk about what we were feeling and talk about—you know, I really needed David’s opinion to keep me on track a lot of times and, you know, make sure that what I was thinking was not crazy or whatever. It was just really good to have somebody to validate what I was saying or to calm me down from whatever and definitely just talking about it. And coming to appointments with me—it was definitely helpful to have somebody there for those discussions, too.
