I was not struck by my mortality because a number of people in my family have had cancer. And so it kind of, in my mind, for whatever I just thought, “Okay, well when is it going to happen to me?” So the experience was not as big of a shock as it could have been. I kind of had been preparing myself for it. Simply because I saw my grandmother go through colon cancer just three years prior to my diagnosis. And I was at home with her, going through the whole process. I think the thing that made me a little more nervous is just the downfall of her. ‘Cause she, she passed away from it. And that’s what kind of made me nervous about it, not necessarily the diagnosis but just how I was going to react to it, and how my body would react to the treatments.
