If I could say just two things to someone who was just diagnosed with cancer regardless of the type of cancer it was; number one and the most important, this is the darkest and blackest day of your life and I want you to know from someone who went through it, who’s just feels like an average person out there and was just as shocked that I was diagnosed, when I followed all the rules and I was healthy, is as soon as you stop asking “Why me?” you will realize it is probably the best thing in the world that’s ever happened to you, because it will make you a better person, a better lover, a better partner, a better father, a better friend, and a better employee and a better person all around. And the second thing, make sure you are your best advocate, because only you could ask the question that you need to know; the doctors are not gonna always offer you the information that you need.
