Elana, Partner of a Survivor
Preserving the ability to have children was huge. It was so big for us. I can’t remember a time when I haven’t wanted children. I can’t remember a time knowing Andy and not knowing how much he loved children. Andy and I both happen to love children. And you know, not everybody does, not everybody is attracted to children. And Andy and I, the minute we walk into a room and there are kids, we are immediately a magnet for kids, so preserving that was incredibly important to both of us and I think we would do anything we could to make sure we could have our own children and in this day and age, that means so many things. It’s different than the family of the fifties. And that was something we had to learn to accept. I’m pretty happy that we are in the place that we are now.
