I think when working with a partner or other supportive members surrounding a cancer patient when they’re making this decision is to just be available and to help them if needed. Make sure that they are looking at all of the different aspects of all the options. Like I said before, I think that there are a lot of patients who come in kind of knowing right away what they wanna do. They have kind of instinctually decided when the oncologist has brought this up to them. But I think that the best thing that they can do is just be somebody there to help them make that decision not necessarily be the devil’s advocate, but just try to work with them and know that whatever decision they make is right for that person and just to be supportive.
